We take the protection of your data very seriously - almost as seriously as climate change, in fact! This means that we want to tell you below exactly what we are doing with your data, and who controls this website.

Data Protection Act

The data controller for the purposes of this website is the National Energy Foundation, registered under the Data Protection Act with no. Z7345445. Our policy is to retain personal data only for so long as it may be required to help you reduce your carbon footprint, use energy more efficiently, learn about renewable energy and climate change or where we believe we are required to retain data for legal purposes. We may share data with the non-commercial partners in the ThimkAgain! campaign, in order to enhance the quality of our service and for statistical data purposes. The data that you provide to us will not be used by us for selling purposes. If you suspect that it has been used by third parties for selling activities, please let us know so that we can investigate the circumstances.
If you complete the Carbon Workout on this website, data will be processed by a third party host, and the programme will normally seek to create one or more cookies on your computer to enable data to be stored between screens. All such data will however remain under the control of the National Energy Foundation as Data Controller.

Other Legal Points

Neither the ThimkAgain! campaign nor any of its partners can be held responsible for any consequential losses as a result of undertaking any of the actions recommended in this website. Advice given is necessarily of a generic nature and you are recommended to consider taking more detailed advice and obtaining at least three written quotations from suppliers before undertaking significant investment in carbon reduction technology. Of course, we cannot be held responsible either for the effects of global climate change if you fail to take any advice and continue to live a high-carbon lifestyle.
